*Prior history of mammary cancer, no evidence on necropsy

Interpretation of necropsy results:

This report was received without history.  The most notable finding is extensive cellulites with malodorous exudates under a large portion of the skin.  Cellulitis is a diffuse inflammation/infection of the deep layers of the skin, and in this case there was an accumulation of pus in that space as well.  Cellulitis may develop after an insult to the skin, such as cuts, blisters, burns, insect bites, surgical sites or IV catheter insertion sites.

The only other abnormalities noted were mild arthritic changes of both femoral heads (hips) most likely due to mild hip dysplasia, and multiple large fluid-filled cysts on both ovaries.  This most likely did not contribute to Tygre’s demise.

There was no evidence of cancer currently, although it is noted on the report that Tygre had been previously diagnosed with (and likely treated for) mammary cancer.  There was no evidence of disease of the digestive system, endocrine system, heart/vascular system, immune system, liver/pancreas, neurological system, or eyes.
